"IC2 De Amicis–Diaz" is a vibrant educational community in Pozzuoli (Naples) that brings together five schools, from kindergarten to Lower Secondary School, and serves as a true point of reference of the neighborhood. Zemgale Secondary School is general secondary school that provides programmes of basic (1th-9th grades) and secondary (10th-12th grades) education.
The vast majority of the students are from the local community. Additionally, there is a department of distance learning programmes.
The students are offered a range of interesting learning activities and after school activities that are frequently linked to their own lives and the local community.
Zemgale Secondary School provides learning programmes that are challenging and appropriate to the present and future needs of the pupils.
The teachers use effective practices to meet the wide range of students’ needs and abilities in their classrooms. The provision of familiar contexts and the effective use of information technology in learning programmes are helping students to develop as self-managed learners.
The school recognizes its responsibilities to meet the learning requirements of all students including those with special learning needs (students with learning difficulties, handicapped students) and within its general teaching programmes.

Our middle school is located in eastern France, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in a region close to the borders with Switzerland and Germany. This privileged geographical position gives our students an openness to European culture and encourages international cooperation.
The school was opened in 1971. It now welcomes around 660 students.
